Exotic Juniper Wood

About Us

THANK YOU for visiting Mascall Ranch Rustics!

Our custom handmade cheese boards, centerpieces, chargers and other wood products are hand crafted from juniper trees from The Mascall Ranch.  The Mascall Ranch is a historical landsite where one of the original European families settled 5 generations ago.  It is located in Central/Eastern Oregon where The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument and Mascall Formation Overlook reside.  Each piece is hand selected and treated with the finest natural oils to bring out and enhance what nature has already created, giving you a one-of-a-kind piece of art. These natural pieces of art can be used as cheese boards, centerpieces, platters, floral platforms or whatever your imagination desires.

History of The Mascall Ranch

Nestled in Central/Eastern Oregon in the confines of the Upper John Day River Valley, surrounded by ancient fossil beds, sage brush and Juniper trees, lies the Mascall Ranch.

In 1864, William Richard Mascall and his wife, Sophie, homesteaded the original 320 acres of the Mascall Ranch.  Through the generations, the holdings have increased to 6800 acres.  Proudly running under the Double Arrow brand, the cattle ranch is now operated by the 5th generation of Mascalls.  From this unique and picturesque land, with its long and rich heritage, comes the aromatic, rustic beauty of the delicately grained Juniper wood used in the creation of the one-of-a-kind pieces seen before you.  Enjoy your beautiful piece of history!

Warmly,

The Mascall Family

Caring for our products

All of Mascall Ranch Rustics juniper woods are a product of nature and may crack or warp in time.  Proper care may lessen natures effects but are not guaranteed.  We use only bee’s wax and mineral oils on most of our products unless specified otherwise.  Dark oils or liquids will stain the wood if left sitting for a period of time. Wipe clean with a damp cloth or rinse with dish soap and water as soon as possible.  Do not soak in water for long periods of time or put in the dishwasher. Treat with mineral or cutting board oils often to insure longevity of our fine products!
